This was an excellent class and very welcoming for true beginners. I walked into the class not even understanding the settings in my camera but left with the knowledge and confidence to adjust settings effectively for a desired effect. Mike is quite knowledgeable and also a great teacher, I will definitely be signing up for additional classes with him!

This shot was taken on my first day into this trip. My wife and I decided to spend Labor Day weekend in the mountains which was wonderful but also very busy which isn't the best for wildlife photography. However, I did come away with some good shots from my outing (mostly landscape) and this is by far one of my favorite. I love how the light is striking the deer's face while he is mostly shrouded in shadow. I took this with a Nikon 200-500mm @ 500, 1/160s, ISO 100 and f6.3. I shot this across th

Was out looking for anything to photograph on one my few days off from work. So I went to the plot of land where I deer hunt. Any wild flower that may still be in bloom, insects, things like that. Tons of grasshoppers everywhere and I came across this fella. I didn't realize he possibly had a wounded left wing until I processed the photos. No wonder he sat thru many different angles, exposures, and me getting up in his face and didn't offer to fly off. I saw the sky start to get some color after looking too overcast. I grabbed my gear and went down to the road behind where I live. I had gotten a few shots of the headlights going the other way and it was too much of a contrast with the sky. I got set up, with the camera low to the ground and got a couple test shots. Then shot this at 5 seconds.
