Street Life Photography - Lake Eola - Farmer's Market - 1pm - 2 hours
Street photography encompasses a wide range of genres, and this week we'll be looking at how you can use different crops and compositions to tell a story about the local area through your camera. There will be a mix of architecture and portrait photography in this session. Chance encounters and random incidents within public places generate opportunities for photographers to create spontaneous art form than can tell a story. We will be taking advantage of the Farmer's Market that occurs every Sunday, free entrance, and utilize that as a starting point for Street based Photography. We will be visiting the very popular Farmer's Market. Book in to join the instructor after the group for a 1.5 hour critique, select, and edit session where you can develop your post shoot skills. Bring your tablet or laptop. Having a professional photographer on our critique sessions will help move your photography to a higher level. Your photos will be evaluated along with a lot of encouragement. You will have a better understanding of the larger “picture” improving your skills as a photographer.

We have a different photo theme bimontly and the two hour sessions take place in different outdoor locations around Orlando. It's a great opportunity to try something new with the guidance of a professional photographer, and come away with some new shots for your portfolio or album.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

What’s involved? Each session starts with an introduction to the theme, and the photography instructor will chat about the camera settings and techniques to use. You’ll then have time to take lots of photos, with the instructor present to answer any questions. You’ll receive feedback and have a chance to chat with everyone to share tips and ideas. We’re a social bunch!

After group editing session. After each group the instructor runs an optional 1.5 hour critique, select, and edit session to help you improve your important post-shoot skills. While much editing can be done on modern cameras, it's best to bring a tablet or laptop with editing software to get the most out of this session. Select this option when booking to attend.

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

We also occasionally hold more formal beginners classes which last 3 hours and are limited to 6 people. These classes are perfect for complete beginners who want to start using manual mode and those who want to brush up on the basics. See the dates below.

We will be covering Black & White along with portraiture. Book in to join the instructor after the group for a 1.5 hour critique, select, and edit session where you can develop your post shoot skills.

I thought it was a good event for my first time with the Orlando Photography Group. I have a somewhat better understanding of the basics of photography, but I definitely will have to join some more classes or meet ups to deepen my understanding which is totally fine- I know I'm not going to become a genius in one session :).

Going into this as a new member, frankly I did not know what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised. The instructor had a high level of expertise and yet was very good at explaining basic things to those of us who needed it. I enjoyed it so much I want to do more things with this group in the future. He was a fine and Brilliant young man who has a passion for photography. He was very tactful and did not make anyone feel belittled for asking questions that maybe some would have scoffed at. He was very understanding and compassionate in that way.
