Street Photography Meetup

Sunday 11 December
Sanford, Florida - 9am - 2 hours Hours
Urban street is a great way to get to know a city. It is a great genre to practice at home, and it's also a great photography tool you can take with you on vacation. In this class, we'll do a review of our camera's manual settings and talk about the best settings for different kinds of street photography. We'll talk about some of the composition tools that will help make your street photography stand out. Then we'll put this learning to practice with a few exercises highlighting different techniques.

50mm Lens Meetup

50mm Lens Meetup

Sunday 08 January
Orlando, Florida - 9am - 2 hours Hours
The 50mm lens is one of the flexible and useful lenses in any photographer’s gear bag. It is neither a wide-angle or telephoto lens, but allows the camera to see on the same scale as your eye. As such, it can be used for a variety of styles, from landscape and street photography to portrait and product photography. In this meetup, we’ll review the basic camera settings. We’ll then cover some of the advantages of shooting with a prime lens, and some basic techniques to using the 50mm lens. As always, there will be ample opportunities for you to put your new knowledge into practice.

    Michael Wacht
Mike has more than 40 years' experience behind the camera, a good deal of that as a professional. A bulk of his work has been as a photojournalist and documentary photographer. This storytelling style informs his other work as an event, portrait/headshot, and travel photographer. Mike traveled in 2003 to Angola, Africa to document the postwar church, documented relief efforts after the 2004 hurricane season, and shot an outdoor wedding next to a glacier in Alaska. Mike holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Washington & Lee University and a master's in strategic communications from Purdue University. He lives in Orlando with his five rescued dogs.
